Ubiquity
Interactive’s inaugural project, a handheld multimedia
museum guide powered by WiFi technology, received its
official launch in Dayton, Ohio in July 2003 as part
of the celebrations surrounding the 100th anniversary
of flight.
Working with a group of US technology
and project management partners, Ubiquity contributed
to the interface design for the visitor experience delivered
on iPAQ Pocket PCs. Visitors to the Huffman Prairie
Interpretive Center experienced interactive content
and dramatic full screen video culled from the archives
of Discovery Wings Channel, a project partner. As visitors
made their way through the physical exhibit they were
able to create a complementary documentary narrative
on their handhelds, bringing a new level of meaning
and resonance to their experience.
